Habersham EMC Celebrates 7 Years of No Lost Time Accidents

Posted: October 18, 2024

There are a wide variety of jobs performed at Habersham EMC, but none of them are exempt from the dedication to safety. From the linemen to member services and everyone in between, the over 100 employees at HEMC all play a unique role in maintaining a safe work environment.

HEMC is celebrating their seventh consecutive year with no lost time accidents.

“Our employees take pride in their jobs, regardless of their duties, knowing our members and communities rely on our services,” says Jason Rothell, Manager of Safety and Loss Control with Habersham EMC.  “We are extremely proud of the HEMC team and each employee’s commitment to performing their duties with safety being of the utmost importance.”

In addition to employee safety being the number one priority on the job site and in the office, HEMC promotes a culture of safety that goes beyond the goal of an injury-free workplace. The co-op nurtures an environment where concern for employee’s health, safety and welfare extends beyond the walls of the office and job sites into the community.  HEMC is committed to providing training, proper tools, personal protective gear, and time to do their jobs safely.

“Regardless of working conditions, safety remains the top priority.  Our goal is that each and every employee make it safely home to their families –each and every night.” says Rothell.  “Reaching milestones such as this is reflective of the safety focus of HEMC’s Board of Directors, CEO, managers, and every employee.”

Habersham EMC looks forward to the future, the milestones yet to come, and seeing the number of accident-free days continue to climb.
