HEMC continues suspended disconnects
Habersham EMC is working with members facing financial challenges during this unprecedented COVID 19 event. HEMC has suspended disconnection of electric service due to nonpayment and waived late penalties. Members experiencing financial hardships are encouraged to contact our office at
(706) 754 – 2114, (706) 865 – 4362 or (800) 640 – 6812.
Due to the effects COVID 19 is having on our area, Habersham EMC has suspended disconnection of services for nonpayment until April 30th. We will continue to monitor the COVID 19 situation and adjust this date if needed. Please understand that we are not providing free electricity during this crisis – this is simply a payment deferment and charges will accrue. It is to the member’s advantage to pay as much as possible as they can to avoid such a large balance.
While HEMC’s lobbies are closed at both the Clarkesville and Cleveland offices, other payment options are available:
