Support Needed to Bridge Georgia’s Digital Divide

Posted: February 5, 2019

Georgia legislators are considering a bill, House Bill 23 sponsored by Rep. Penny Houston (R-Nashville) which allows EMCs to engage in broadband services and creates common sense cross-subsidization protections that ensure consumer protection and fair competition.

Broadband access for rural Georgia is a vital issue that our state is facing and EMCs, while not a silver bullet, provide another important option to communities and Georgia families who’ve grown desperate for this essential service.

We need your help! Please tell your state Representative to vote YES on HB 23 by sending them a message at the Georgia EMC Take Action page.

  • It’s fast – click “Take Action”
  • Fill in the required information to match you with your legislator
