Winter Storm Diego 2:27 p.m. Update

Posted: December 9, 2018

As of 2:27 p.m., 5912 meters remained without power.

The largest number of outages is in Rabun County, where a transmission line was lost in the early morning hours. In addition, there are several broken poles scattered throughout the service area.

Restoration efforts have been impeded due to trees in roadways and weather conditions. In some cases, trucks must travel off-road in order to make repairs and have gotten stuck.

37 additional linemen from four cooperatives and an electrical contractor are assisting with restoration efforts.

Please avoid downed lines and treat all as if energized. Report hazards and outages by phone at the numbers below. Please do not report via social media as these channels are not monitored continuously.

Thank you for your support and patience.
