Touchstone Energy is an alliance of more than 600 cooperatives in 45 states. The alliance's branding initiative communicates electric cooperatives' unique characteristics in a changing marketplace where these values and differences matter more each day. Georgia Electric Membership Corporation

Georgia EMC's mission is to promote and enhance the competitiveness of Georgia's EMCs and their affiliate organizations; to assist individual systems in meeting their member/owners' needs; and to provide leadership, working jointly with these member systems, that will facilitate the creation and maintenance of a healthy government, business and community environment in which Georgia's EMCs and their member/owners can thrive. www.georgiaemc.com

 

Georgia Systems Operations Corporation

Georgia System Operations Corporation (GSOC) was established in January 1997. GSOC provides operation services required to dispatch generation and operate the transmission system for their customers, including power accounting services. www.gasoc.com

 

Georgia Energy Cooperative

Eleven EMCs in Georgia formed a partnership to create Georgia Energy Cooperative (GEC), a not-for-profit, member-owned power supply cooperative. With corporate headquarters in Tucker, Ga., GEC's business mission is to provide for long-term power supply needs by procuring future energy resources, managing power supply contracts and planning for future energy needs on behalf of the 11 member EMCs. National Rural Electric Cooperative Association

The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) is the national service organization dedicated to representing the national interests of cooperative electric utilities and the consumers they serve. NRECA's more than 900 member cooperatives serve 39 million people in 47 states. www.nreca.org

 

Oglethorpe Power Corporation

Oglethorpe Power Corporation (OPC) is a power supplier serving 38 of Georgia's 42 customer-owned EMCs. OPC is owned by its Member Systems. Formed in 1974, OPC is one of Georgia's largest privately owned corporations. www.opc.com

 

Rural Utilities Service

Rural Utilities Service (RUS) provides the leadership and capital to upgrade, expand, maintain, and replace America's rural electric infrastructure. www.usda.gov

 

Georgia Transmission Corporation

Georgia Transmission Corporation (GTC) provides bulk power over high-volume electric lines to 39 EMCs, serving as a link between power generation and the EMC's individual electric distribution systems. GTC plans, builds and maintains a transmission system of more than 2,600 miles of power lines and 580 substations. www.gatrans.com

 

Green Power

Green Power EMC is a partnership of 28 Georgia electric membership cooperatives who have come together to research and offer electricity generated by renewable resources. This electricity is then offered to EMC members. www.greenpoweremc.com
